Hi, I’m Shereen — Counsellor, Educator, and Fellow Mama in the Trenches of Early Motherhood.
I’m a SAC Provisional Clinical Member with a Master of Arts in Counselling from TCA College.
But more than that—I’m a mother who understands how overwhelming the early years can feel.
Before founding Thriving New Mama, I spent 8 years supporting individuals and families through major life transitions—helping elderly residents and their families navigate aging, illness, and palliative care in nursing homes and hospices. I also designed intergenerational programmes for children, youth, and young adults to connect meaningfully with seniors. Those years shaped my belief in the power of transitions—not as something to fear, but as invitations to grow.
Now, as a new mother myself, I’ve felt firsthand what it’s like to juggle endless tabs in your mind. To show up at work and at home. To carry the invisible mental load.
And to wonder—is this what motherhood is supposed to feel like?
That’s why I started Thriving New Mama—a space for high-functioning, thoughtful women like you to feel seen, supported, and strengthened in this season of change.
I believe that caring for your marriage and your mental health in the early years of motherhood isn’t just “nice to have.” It lays the groundwork for:
- A more connected, resilient relationship with your partner
- Your baby’s emotional development and attachment
- Your ability to thrive, not just survive
My counselling and teaching styles integrate evidence-based tools, somatic practices, and the expressive arts. I use a whole-person, family-systems approach that values your story, your culture, and your strengths.
I see therapy as a process of growth—you are the seed, and I aim to create a safe, nurturing space for you to take root and flourish.
If you’re ready to invest in your well-being and your relationships—not just for your kids, but for yourself—I’d be honored to walk with you.
